You'll be clappin' your hands and stompin' your feet to this
exuberant music: high energy, New Orleans-style jazz that
makes you feel like you're in the middle of a Mardi Gras celebration!
The Preservation Jazz Hall Band got its name from Preservation
Hall, one of the most distinctive landmarks in New Orleans.
The band has been referred to by one music critic as "a
bridge across the ages - a link between the present day and
the heyday of traditional New Orleans music." Some of
the creators of this style of music are still with the ensemble,
with the musicians ranging in age from 29 to 88.
The Preservation Hall Jazz Band performs nightly at Preservation
Hall and tours around the world over 150 days a year. The
band has appeared at many famous venues, including Carnegie
Hall (NYC), Symphony Hall (Boston), Monterey Jazz Festival
(CA) and the Red Sea Jazz Festival (Israel.)
