June 1, 2021

To our Klein patrons:

All of us at The Klein are delighted to once again welcome our performance companies and patrons.  Since partially re-opening in December, we have operated with strict protocols to ensure the health and safety of our artists and patrons.  We are extremely grateful for the cooperation we’ve received and are pleased to announce that some of those restrictions can now be lifted.

Effective June 1st, we will no longer require seating with social distancing (although some events have already been sold with spacing in mind), nor will we take temperatures at the door.  Mask wearing, however, is still in force for now.  We will carefully monitor the progress of vaccination, and once we are assured that it is safe to remove face masks, we will do so.

For most of this past year, I have participated in frequent discussions with other venue operators, as well as state and local officials.  We share best possible scientific knowledge and recommendations, all to certify that each participating venue is doing its best to protect our patrons and community.

Thank you for your understanding.  Please check our website for the latest updates. We have an exciting slate of events for summer and fall and will add events steadily.  Join us! We look forward to seeing your smiling faces soon!

Executive Director

The Klein is open for events in accordance with the State of CT's latest guidance.
The health and welfare of our patrons, staff, and performers is our top priority. We are taking several precautions to keep the building sanitized, including:
  • Amplifying our cleaning practices and frequently disinfecting all door handles, counters, and bathrooms before, during, and after each event
  • Spraying rooms with a disinfectant fogger after events
  • Patrons and staff must wear a mask in the building, regardless of vaccination status
  • Our HVAC system features top-level HEPA filters
  • Hand sanitizer stations are set up around the theater
  • We ask that anyone who thinks they have been exposed or who does not feel well to not attend our events

The Klein is sustained by the generosity of our community.  We offer a wide range of programming and the ONLY tuition- free after school arts program in Bridgeport, Klein Theatre Arts. The Klein is a 501c3 non-profit organization. Your donations are tax-deductible.

We send out weekly emails to keep you informed on all our upcoming events.
