TENISI DAVIS—Actor/playwright presents a staged reading of a new play "We Are Only Dead, If We Are Forgotten"
Followed by a Klein Theatre Arts Master Class Workshop
The sign-up period for this class has ended.
The story of sibling poets (played by Maya Carter and Geoffrey Sheehan) trying to overcome writers block in an effort to heal their present trauma. But how can you heal in the present when you’ve forgotten the past?..Sometimes the way out, is going back through.
Inspired by true events and the oral history of the Black American experience from the time of slavery to the present.
The play will take place from 6pm-7pm, followed by the workshop session from 7pm-8pm. No registration is necessary. There is ample space in our 1447-seat theater for social distancing. Masks are required.
Each session will feature: (1) an interview with the guest artist to learn about his/her career path and influences, (2) a demonstration of the skills and craft of the artist’s field of endeavor, and (3) an interactive component where audience members are brought on stage to gain instruction in that craft. Maureen Hamill, Director of Education for Klein Theatre Arts, is the moderator.
