No registration is necessary. There is ample space in our 1447-seat theater for social distancing. Masks are required.
Each session will feature: (1) an interview with the guest artist to learn about his/her career path and influences, (2) a demonstration of the skills and craft of the artist’s field of endeavor, and (3) an interactive component where audience members are brought on stage to gain instruction in that craft. Maureen Hamill, Director of Education for Klein Theatre Arts, is the moderator.
JON JORDAN is a New York-based hair and wig designer whose career on Broadway, television, and film has spanned almost 40 years and began as an apprentice at the Downtown Cabaret Theatre in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Some of his favorite work on Broadway includes the original production of HAIRSPRAY, THE KING & I (starring Lou Diamond Phillips), THE LION KING, KISS OF THE SPIDER WOMAN, THE SCARLET PIMPERNEL, and EQUUS (starring Daniel Radcliffe).
Film and television credits include WEST SIDE STORY (director Steven Spielberg), THE TRIAL OF THE CHICAGO SEVEN (director Aaron Sorkin), MEN IN BLACK 3, THE IRISHMAN (director Martin Scorsese), ANNIE (starring Jamie Foxx), and on television FOSSE/VERDON, SMASH, WHITE COLLAR, THE PLOT AGAINST AMERICA, among many others. Jon is the winner of the 2019 Emmy Award for Hairstyling for his work on THE MARVELOUS MRS. MAISEL.
