ABOUT CADY HUFFMAN

Cady Huffman started studying ballet seriously at age 7. She performed in ballets and local theater productions throughout her childhood. Some of her favorite dance roles were the little brother, Fritz in THE NUTCRACKER, Peter in PETER AND THE WOLF, Grisi in PAS DE QUATRE, Dream Laurie in OKLAHOMA! and Gladys in PAJAMA GAME. At 18 she moved to Los Angeles and joined Actors Equity Association. She performed in music videos including Billy Crystal’s YOU LOOK MARVELOUS, numerous regional theater productions and at 19 was a Cagelle in the San Francisco and Los Angeles companies of the original production of LA CAGE AUX FOLLES.

At 20 she was asked to join the Broadway company of La Cage, packed up and moved to her childhood dream city of New York. Soon after arriving she auditioned for her favorite choreographer, Bob Fosse, and was cast in his last original Broadway musical BIG DEAL. She continued her Broadway career in shows such as THE WILL ROGERS FOLLIES (choreographed by Tommy Tune), STEEL PIER (choreographed by Susan Stroman), DAME EDNA: THE ROYAL TOUR (choreographed by Cynthia Onrubia), THE NANCE (choreographed by Joey Pisi) and won a Tony Award playing Ulla in the original Broadway production of THE PRODUCERS (choreographed by Susan Stroman). These days Cady is a full-time Director, Actor, Singer and ukulele player and continues to pay-it-forward teaching and sharing her experiences in dance. She is forever grateful to her very first ballet teachers, Bob and Carol Hanlin, who prepared her so thoroughly with the discipline and training needed to live her childhood dream of being a professional performer and director.
